Antique treasures – Bali

I have found some small hidden streets here on Bali with lots of antique treasures. I like! Not only from Bali but also from nearby islands like Florence, Sumba, Timor and Sumatra. All items with a special meaning; the wooden statues to keep away bad spirits, the necklaces used in special seremonies etc. It seems like I need to do some more shipping back home..

It´s Bali time again!!

I am back on Bali and ready for a new working period now. And this is were I live right now!! An enormous villa with lovely Bali-style interior. The ceiling height must be more than 10 meters.
I love all the old antique furnitures!
I already feel at home ❤

Restored & Modernised Furnitures

Here are some of the furnitures I have worked on and modernised lately. Last week’s treasure hunt resulted in a series of furnitures from the 1920s. I love the fine artwork on old furnitures. All about the details, and high quality materials. I am still working on the dining table that seats up to 16 persons.

Pink Palace – Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild

I visitted this Barbie dream house in Cap Ferrat last week during my stay in Nice.
Villa Ephrussi de Rotchild is the ultimate in Riviera elegant extravagance. Built in the Tuscan style for Baroness Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild this pink villa gives an intriguing look into the labour of love of a wealthy, eccentric and travelled woman of the early 20th century. The property is surrounded by nine beautiful gardens, while the villa houses Beatrices’ wonderful collection of antiques and artworks from around the world. The collections of furniture, clothing, art, tapestries, rugs and porcelain are beautifully preserved and the setting makes it easy to escape into imagination.
The mansion it a perfect place for weddings, filming and photoshoots.

Antique spiral staircase

I needed to find a spiral staircase when we renovated the loft above our apartment. I found this unique antique staircase via in Sweden. I think it is from the 1890s, made of iron at Göteborgs Nya Werkstads AB. It was in bad condition but with some renovation and painting I am happy with the result.
